Why Support Community Check-Up Center?
Because it:
Is a 501(c)(3) non-profit health center in Hall Manor, one of Harrisburg’s most underserved communities.
Was started 29 years ago by Head Start Mothers living in the “projects” with the assistance of Dauphin County Legal Aid. CCC continues in the same 1800 sq.ft. space.
Provides care to all regardless of ability to pay: 60% of current patients are on Medicaid, 30% are uninsured.
Has had 130,000 patient visits in its 30 year history, 98% of whom are children and women.
Is staffed by: Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, an Executive Director and office workers. Many are bilingual.
Is governed by an 18 member Board of Directors assisted by a 16 member Leadership Council who together, raise 70% of CCC’s income via direct mail, special events, and private foundations.
Can only continue its work with financial contributions from people like you. Caring for the under and uninsured, CCC’s mission, is necessary for public health but is funded privately.
Every dollar you give goes directly to the care of the Center’s patients: pediatric vaccines, critical care for all, well checks, cancer screenings, women’s gynecological services, birth control, STD testing/treatment and immunizations for all.
